Plastic erosion-control netting is a hazard

Plastic erosion-control netting is a hazard to birds. It is shown below with graythorn (Ziziphus obtusifolia) twigs, and feathers of a Crissal Thrasher (Toxostoma crissale). A Crissal Thrasher was found trapped by this netting, at Colossal Cave Mountain Park in Arizona. I have also seen a Pied-billed Grebe with erosion-control netting wrapped around its head, at the pond in front of Walnut Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, in Austin, Texas. In both cases, I was able to capture the bird and free it from the netting.
