Leaves of a small jujube tree.
Ziziphus ziziphus (L.) H. Karst.
Ziziphus jujuba Mill.
Found January 2006, under shade of hackberries and bumelia,
at Hornsby Bend, Travis County, Texas.
The tree is about 8 feet tall.
Note the small spines. The twigs are green. The leaves are alternate, toothed, glabrous, thin and flexible. On the underside of the leaf, the three main veins are prominent. One leaf measured about 6cm long, including the petiole, and 4cm wide. |
